Why can a Christian not be a Freemason?

I found the following article, with the same title as the title of this blog incidentally, on this website;

http://www.excatholicsforchrist.com/articles.php?PageURL=ChristianFreemason.htm

The objections a true born again Christian have against the fraternity of freemasonry is legio and the need to warn others about it seems universal. This article highlights a few of those problems.

Can a Christian be a Freemason?

by G. Patrick Battell, July 2005

This is one of those frequently asked questions that regularly gets an airing either on Christian radio or in church circles.

Another question asked, is Freemasonry Christian?

So I must answer an emphatic NO to both questions, but also try to perhaps qualify why the Born Again Christian can never seek membership to be a Mason or any other secret society. Or even wish to do so.

Regrettably, however was the fact that former Archbishop of Canterbury, Geoffrey Fisher was indeed a practising mason all his life.

The Church of England has long had the problem of how to deal with Freemasons in their broad church. Rowan Williams, whose father was in the Craft, used to block the promotion of practising Masonic bishops, before he was promoted to Canterbury.

In Martin Short’s book, ‘Inside the Brotherhood’ he shares the following account of one Anglican Primate who wasn’t happy to learn of a Masonic burial in an Anglican Church:

“……I found that the words ‘Jesus Christ’ were omitted from the prayers and the word ‘Architect’ substituted. Worse still, the cross was to be removed from the altar…. I thought that in this case it would be better for the service to take place in a Masonic temple….this line I took stirred up a hornets’ nest. I was warned that I had offended important benefactors and that the diocese would suffer financially. It might have done so” (pgs. 76, 77.)

Secret societies must be either Christian, non-christian, or anti-Christian”, wrote George L. Hunt in his book ‘Secret Societies’. Although this statement was written over a hundred years ago it’s meaning is just as relevant today, if not more so!

(In recent years the Masons have tried hard to reinvent their battered and tarnished image, by allowing members of the press and public to come and visit their Lodges, during out of hours. One recent Masonic newsletter that was sent to me, had the following quote, about the need for more “good news” stories, from the local press: “…Now that we are achieving good coverage in the local press we are looking to other means of spreading the good news about Freemasonry.” This same publication boasted of the numerous good works that they do in their areas, with the sum raised by them, for the years 2004/2005 being 200,037. It would appear that they are trusting in their own righteousness, not Jesus’ to receive Eternal Life (Rom. 10:1-4.)

At this stage I must lay my cards on the table and state categorically that to my knowledge there have never been practising freemasons in my family. How could there be? As a fourth or fifth generation Roman Catholic, had not the church forbidden membership to freemasonry? And by no less than nine papal bulls issued by fuming Pope’s! All this was to change covertly after Vatican II, when I suspect the ecumenical plot allowed masons to join the fold. If you’re still not sure of the Roman Catholic view, just check the 1994 Catechism; you will find no mention of freemasonry and why a Catholic cannot seek membership. Today I don’t think they – the hierarchy – could care less what you wish to do with your spare time. Accept possibly promote the Social Gospel!

So can a Christian be a freemason? The first question is why would he want to (yes, I know some lodges allow women): “The Order of the Eastern Star can and does include both men and women.” But they remain very much male driven. Incidentally the knights of DeMolay are a related organization that a young Bill Clinton was attracted to join when he was 15 years old. According to ‘Freemasonry today’, young Bill enlisted in DeMolay at Hot springs in Arkansas in 1961. He later stated: “I enjoyed learning all parts of the ritual. I grew up in a family with no money and no political influence. I had a lot of breaks; a lot of people helped me. DeMolay I think helps that”. He would later become a Rhodes scholar: Cecil Rhodes was himself a highly respected millionaire freemason. Also according to Dr Peter S. Ruckman, President Clinton became somewhere in his political career a born again Christian, so make of that what you will!

George L. Hunt states that: “Secretism is not only non-Christian, but that it is anti-Christian.” Heavy stuff you may say, but are they religious these Masons?

They most certainly are! Just listen to what Albert Pike, Grand Commander and Sovereign Pontiff (recognise that word?) of Universal Masonry) has to say: “Every Masonic lodge is a temple of religion.”

Or as Dr Albert Mackey a highly respected mason wrote in his book ‘The encyclopaedia of Freemasonry’: “Masonry is an eminently religious institution. The truth is masonry is undoubtedly a religious institution.”

Or as Sir John Cockburn, past deputy grand master of South Australia said:

“Masonry, is a form of worship in which all religions can unite”. (And boy, aren’t they just promoting that today?)

Incidentally according to the author Jim Shaw, himself a previous 33rd degree Mason who was saved from the darkness of masonry and brought into the light of Jesus Christ, he writes:

“Masonry, contrary to popular belief, is NOT based upon the Bible. Masonry is actually based on the Kabala (Cabala), a medieval book of magic and mysticism.”

This dangerous statement is also reinforced by no less that Albert Pike. He said: “Masonry is a search after light. That search leads us directly back, as you see, to the Kabala.” (Check out James’ article on this website about the Kabbalah.)

Now one thing this website is clear about and that is: you must get out of religion! Have nothing to do with it. It cannot save you! No two ways about it! I mean would you wish to be mixed up with these people? Remember – masonry excludes the name of Christ from prayer. The precious name of Jesus is excluded from every passage of Scripture that is read in the lodge:

For example, this verse is how is should read, but Masons omit the following words:

“Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us” (2 Thess. 3:6.)

The same is used to mangle 2 Thess. 3:11, 12:

“For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies. Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.”

This is not genuine Christian behaviour, neither should it ever be accepted as such.

“When Masonry mutilates the Holy Scripture by deliberately omitting the name of the Messiah it is no longer the God-breathed, inspired word of God. It is religion without Jesus Christ as Saviour and Redeemer.”

This statement by the late Jim McCormick himself an astute observer and writer of numerous articles on Freemasonry over the years is confirmed by Albert Pike in his lexicon of freemasonry He writes: “A Christian Mason is not permitted to introduce his own peculiar opinions with regard to Christ’s mediatorial office into the lodge.”

“It is interesting that in ‘The Builder’, a well known Masonic book, there is no entry in the index for: ‘Jesus’ or ‘Christ.’

In ‘Coils Masonic Encyclopaedia’ no such entry is listed either. Neither does ‘Holman’s Masonic edition of the Holy Bible’ include an entry of either ‘Jesus’ or ‘Christ’. So I have to ask: does this not show the scornful attitude of any Lodge toward Christianity? All prayers in the lodge it seems are Christ-less prayers. How sad.

So where does that leave the Christian as regards worship in the lodge? Assuming he has got this far!

Well he can use the volume of Sacred Law (VSL), the Koran, Vedas, the book of Mormon, or gita. He can choose Mohammed, Zoroaster or the angelus for inspiration, if he so wishes. He can worship in any lodge behind closed doors in Trafalgar sq, off Broadway or near the neverland ranch (if he should wish to.)

Yet did not Jesus proclaim: “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14: 6). So what is going on here, I have to ask. And don’t be taken in by the all ‘seeing eye’ familiar in the lodge and on the back of a dollar bill. It is not the eye of God as masons claim but rather:

“The all seeing eye (that) was the symbol of deity in the ancient mysteries of Egypt.”

Secretism, it seems, announces another route, another door independent of the Lord Jesus Christ. This I will not accept! Christ is not on the level with Mohammed or Buddha or Confucius, Sitting Bull or Pope Benedict XVI.

Freemasonry also states that: “If you deserve and purchase your path to heaven you are being saved by your own works, not God’s works.” This is from the Freemasons pocket companion. The true Christian knows that good works can never save you. Only the precious blood of Jesus Christ can achieve this. Nothing else. And if it did, what was the point of the Crucifixion?

“He that is of God heareth God’s words” (John 8:47.)

So why are young men attracted into becoming Freemasons?

In the Masonic Catechism the novice is asked:

“Why did you become a Freemason?”

“To obtain a knowledge of the secrets and mysteries preserved amongst the brethren.”

In the commercial sector it can offer promotion and in bringing in new business to the firm if a man is approached to join the lodge. This is very much a sweetener as well as the colourful regalia. And don’t all men love a uniform and the whiff of secret societies? (For the purpose of this article I have excluded the Illumminati, the Trilateral group, the Bilderberg group and other assorted anti-Christian institutions.) It should also be remembered that: “Many ministers, elders, deacons, trustees and Sunday school teachers”, have all requested a place in the Lodge. And shame on them!

Remember: Masonic rites are idolatry. This is clearly witnessed in the initiation oaths especially in the first 3 degrees. Even God is re named the great Architect of the Universe! Masons will not find him in the Grand lodge in the sky! Rather they will meet the one true God at the Great White Throne (Rev. 20:11.)

The apostle Paul was correct when he warned those seeking the truth not to yoke with those who practise such acts. Did Jesus not warn: “Swear not at all” (Matt. 5:34.)

In the 19th degree of the 33 degrees of Freemasonry, the candidate is marked with balm with the words said over him:

“Thou art a priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek.”

We must see this as blasphemy and unacceptable.

Incidentally in the same degree (19th) the candidate is presented with a sash embroidered with the 12 signs of the zodiac. The Bible clearly forbids this divination (Deuteronomy 18:10). Again the Christian should and must reject such a practise if it is offered to him.

And what about secret hand grips? And mumbled Oaths muttered in the dark (please read what the Apostle James says in his Epistle 5:12 about this matter). The apprentice is warned that his throat will be cut, his tongue and heart will be torn out and his discarded body will be marked and disembowelled, if any lodge secrets are revealed to non-masons, or I suppose his family!

So why would any sane person in his right mind want to go along with this malarkey? One more thing a Christian should look out for are: Masonic rings cuff links and tie clips as well as fleece lined aprons and silk festooned ties, crystal glass or pewter decanters.

My final advice to any Christian who has joined freemasonry is to get out of it: burn the regalia – don’t wait. And if you’ve got kids or grandchildren they’ll love to assist you in stoking that fire in the garden. Perhaps your wife will also be very glad of your decision!

Remember what the Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Cor. 6:17: “Come ye out from among them”, he later qualifies this in Ephesians 5:11:

“Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.”

So what more encouragement do you need?

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

I know you probably won’t post my comments but that’s fine…

But it’s funny how you have to copy and paste someone else to make a statement. As a “Former” Freemason, you should be able to express your own testimony on why you left the fraternity…

Also, you should be able to poke holes all through this person’s outside views of the fraternity. How many times has an Anti-Mason took a sentence out of a Pike or Mackey’s book to make their argument? Hundreds? Thousands?

If they included the whole paragraph from which the sentences or statements reside, it would change the entire argument… Also, as an outsider they should first look at the intro of Pike’s Morals and Dogmas… It even states that the work is of Pike’s own view and everyone is free to discredit it or disagree… AND it’s for those who know the symbolism as in those who have been through the degrees… How would anyone on the outside be able to truly and accurately interpret his work? Or that of Mackey?

Also it’s still not true about the mention of Christ. Christ is not left out of our prayers… In fact int our Monitor is the Lord’s Prayer… How about that?

Speaking of secrecy… This dude speaks of the Catholic church. The Catholic church is widely known for secrets such as sexual abuse with minors – over 500 cases. It is also a fact that they purposely kept that a “Secret” as the “Catholic church protects their own.” Check out my source on that, wikipedia…

So what’s wrong with secret handshakes? When did that become a sin? Was no one a kid and kept secrets or came up with a special handshake? That’s just stupid… What’s next, you must walk and talk a certain way? How much more do you people plan to keep on adding to the Bible?

Oaths and Obligations…no more than just promises… Does not your Anti-Mason ministry make promises to others or promise to keep secrets of others or do you see that as a sin? Where in the Bible does it state OR where would secrets tie in as a sin? It’s not hate, idolatry, adultery, murder, strife, fornication, lies, stealing, witchcraft, blasphemy, etc… So what makes it a sin? AND given the fact that Freemasonry does not worship or take the place of worship, in that it’s a secular entity as you may find that Pike and Mackey have also stated, it not being a religious institution in the terms of it being a Church or Synagogue or Mosque, nor does it preach doctrines or sacraments… where in that above said list would Freemasonry fall under making it a sin?

If you read the Bible and know anything about Masonry’s rituals, you’ll find the scriptures come from the Masonic Bible or better known as the Authorized King James Version of the Holy Bible which is widely used by Christians today.

Basically it’s just more evidence that there are certain people that will do what it takes to keep that tax exempt status, sell more books, and drive fear into the hearts of man just to be rich. There’s a special place in hell for people like that, I do believe that…Anyone that would slander the names of countless good men and their family.

And guess what, you keep supporting those intolerant hypocrites, criminals… The real sad part is that they are not cutting you in on their profits… At least charge them for the free advertising…

  2. Aaron Says:

So you shouldn’t become a Mason because the Pope said so? The Pope also says that YOU are not a member of the One True Church, and YOU will not be going anywhere untill you repent and accept Christ. You are an Apostate.

So why should I listen to anything you have to type?

  3. Johnie I. Robinson Says:

I am a Christian, I believe that We can only enter the kingdom of God through the Blood of Christ. I am also a Mason of near fourty years. God is called by many names in many languages, so no matter the name, be it yaway, I am, Jovah, Great Artect of the Universe, or any name in any language, God knows what is in Your heart. So to You who condem Free Masonary, most of you are liars, because you have never been a Mason.
The truth is that some Churches fear financial loss, because Masons give to many chairtys, and every dime that goes to these chairtys is money not
received by the church. Freemasonary is not a religion, and the Masonic lodge is not a church. Freemasonary is a fraternaty, and the lodge building is our meeting place. I know that those who condem others will not cease.
Try teaching Love of Christ, and your fellow men, and Women. God loves us all.

interesting material, where such topics do you find? I will often go

  6. OneGodOneFaithOneBaptism Says:

Who do you represent? I am a formal member of OES. I finally came to my senses and realized who I was representing! If you really want to find out.. check out demonic signs and symbols and see what symbols come up and what they represent!! You can’t serve two masters at one time! John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. So if you represent any of these demonic symbols you can’t possibly represent JESUS CHRIST!!!!!

    • Brandon Todd Cole Says:

To which demonic symbols are you referring? If you are referring to the inverted pentagon/pentagram, then it might interest you to know that it was originally used as a symbol in early Christianity to represent the five wounds of Christ. Many eastern European Christian churches still use it today.

  7. anothermouse Says:

    Hallo and welcome,

You are quite right, one can not serve two masters.
I used to be a mason but now I serve Jesus.
If you read carefully you will see that I warn masons about the dangers of masonry and proof exhaustively why and how it transgresses the will of God.
I have been a mason myself for many years until I got saved by the grace of God and my own eyes were opened. I know God loves all of us and he loved us even whilst we were sinners! I know many who are still in the order and pray daily for their deliverance and salvation. I still love them, now even more as when I knew them as brethren.

No sane person will stay in an evil organization unless they are evil themselves. The people I met in masonry were the nicest people one could ever hope to meet. None of them thought they were busy with the works of the Devil. They all patted themselves on the back daily, thinking they were doing good!

YET – THEY ARE ALL DELUDED !!!

Having been there yourself, you will know what I talk about.

Please join me in prayer and my efforts to get this message to them,

    God bless,

    A.

  11. Laurence Says:

hello everyone I hope the topic isn’t forgotton. I was actually searching for a new lodge when I ran across this and I figured I give my thoughts. First off to any mason reading these forums shouldn’t get so upset this is just talk. People usually use Albert Pike and Mackey as why masonary is bad. These guys didn’t really know what they were talking about. No lodge actually suggest you read their books. The truth is they were considered smart men of their times but they got rushed though degrees, started looking for the true meaning of masonary in the 28th degree up and started writing books after only being masons a few months. Everything you read in your ritual is not true. Masonary is an interpretation of an interpretation. England was the first to really start writing stuff down and by the time they did no actual telling how much they changed, but its all we have left of it and thank God for that. If you look at legitimate history and I use that loosely because no history before the 1700’s is going be validated by every historians but you know people believe what makes sense to them. Anyway you will find that masonary started in Africa with man trying to figure out what the one true God who made everything on earth and in heaven wanted from him. They built spiritual temples inside then erected the greatest architecture on the planet. These were master masons. Science, art and government was derived from man desire to please our lord. Now people got hold of this and did what they wanted to with it but let me go into why it’s not bad for us christians. You can’t talk about religion and politics in a meeting just so people won’t argue and you can get buisness done. When the meeting is over you and the brothers can go to church if you want. When you pray, your praying to God because when men meet for a good purpose they should pray it’s not meant to be a worship. It’s like when you say grace in the cafateria you are sitting around many people of different religions but before you eat you should thank God. Everyone talks about the universal Scottish rite, but if you are a christian you can take Yorkrite degrees which you are really supposed to be a christian to get into that house. you are supposed to be spiritualy upright before you join. The masonary that we have is just a way for men to get together and do good works in their communities. The rules of religion and politics in the lodge is so you can get in there and get buisness done without argueing all meeting. It is not a religion. If you can’t dicuss religon how can it be one. If it was a cult you could go to leaders for spiritual guidance. I’m not going to an officer for spirital guidance unless he’s a preacher, deacon, or a brother I know studies the teaching of Jesus Christ. It’s really so much to say but I don’t want this to be a seminar. If you are against masonary I’m sure you will misinterept what I said and find fault in it but hey I’m not perfect nor is anybody else. Get knowledge, interpret it ,and figure things out for your self. Good luck brothers and God bless.

One last thing. When I say get knowledge I mean get some books and check reference. Don’t depend on things people say online to be true.

  12. theresa Says:

so if theres nothing wrong with being a mason..then why the secrecy..why the threat of killing if you tell anyone what goes on in the lodge(in your oath)??? if masons isnt a cult then what is it. why cant you tell your family?? why is the masons more important than your own family? if it isnt what everyone else says it is then again why the secrecy?? i am a christian who loves God and very proud to say it. So if you claim that the masons isnt a cult again i ask why the secrecy? i am trying to be opened minded that my husband has joined, but so far i am not. if my husband has to hide what he does then what else will the masons help him hide from me. all of you who have been a mason for years and proud of it,then why cant you openly say or show what you do.why have a oath? tell me something, change my mind about it all. when i dont understand something i always look for answers and so far i dont like what i read.but i will keep looking, because unfortunatly for me my maariage depends on this, because the lodge he is at,says he has to choose.a christian wife or the masons. so all you masons..why does he have to choose on his love for his family or a bunch of men?

    • Brandon Todd Cole Says:

I’ll happily address your objections, Theresa 🙂

The secrecy is a result of multiple anti-Masonic persecutions, starting with the Catholic Church in 1700s Europe and carrying over into the USA during the 1820s. Masonry brought together men of all classes and religions, which the Catholic Church did not like. In the USA, people were worried that Freemasons were taking over the government; in fact, they were so worried that they formed an anti-Masonic political party. That party only lasted for a few years, but the resulting anti-Masonic sentiment lasted for a few decades.

The obligations that we take are a symbolic way of saying that we’d rather suffer such things than to break our word. The penalties in each of the degrees were originally punishments in the British Navy, but have never been carried out by a Masonic authority; they are symbolic only, and there is no real threat to any Mason.

Masonry is not more important than family. In fact, Masonry urges us to place God, family, and work before Masonry.

There are really only two things that we do not share with the public: business from our regular meetings and the allegories taught in degrees. Each occur behind closed doors for their own reasons. Regular meetings are done behind closed doors for the same sake of privacy that a private company’s board meetings are behind closed doors; financial matters, accomplished projects, and future projects are simply none of the public’s business unless we choose to share that information. Allegorical degree work, on the other hand, could be taken out of context by the public, thus losing true meaning.

There are plenty of things that we are proud of and can show you, however. For example, any Masonic lodge will happily give you a tour of the Lodge room. You can also benefit from our many appendant organizations, such as Shriner’s Hospitals (every Shriner that you will ever meet is a Freemason). The families of children who are treated in Shriner’s Hospitals don’t pay a single cent for treatment. We also have plenty of other charitable organizations such as Children’s Dyslexia Centers, Inc and Cryptic Masons Philanthropy (which is a research team in the prevention of arteriosclerosis).

Frankly, if your husband’s lodge is telling him to choose between Masonry and you, then it’s not going to be a regular lodge (meaning that it is not recognized by all other lodges as a true lodge). You may want to bring to that to his attention. In fact, I would get ahold of the Grand Lodge where you live and confirm whether or not his lodge is under their jurisdiction. If it’s not, then your husband is being scammed by a fake lodge. Good luck.

Take it from me, an ex-mason. Before I knew the Lord Jesus Christ personally I was convinced that freemasonry was a good thing and had God’s blessing. Yet now that I am a saved, born again Christian, I can tell you without a doubt, God does not approve of freemasonry.
If your man is a mason and you want to know what to do about it, I suggest pray for him with all your heart and do you utmost to convince him to come out of there. It can be done, I did. Just resign. Then follow Jesus.
    Blessings,
    A.

    • Gerald Says:

Brother please don’t take this the wrong way, and I say brother because all men are brothers in Christ as well, but it is a slippery slope saying God doesn’t approve of Freemasonry. The bible teaches love for all mankind regardless of religion correct? I think as an ex-mason you may want to think back to the different types of masons then rephrase your statement. Also revisit your everything you went through and realign your way of thinking because I as a mason and a Christian know that they all tie in together

  14. doug smith Says:

Thank you for spelling it all out for the common folk, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this as when I finished article I had no doubts or questions. I ran across this page looking for something to interest me and I could not stop reading it but besides all that this paper needs to be in front of all to see and read both young and old. I think it would be a great asset for a young man to read before joining anything. Thank you.

  15. Chosen Says:

Theresa and to All, first let me say this there has been only 1 perfect man on this earth and his name is Jesus of Nazereth “the Christ” (Christ is a title and not a name) and NO Man before or since has come close. With that said masons and chirstians all fall victim to sins. Theresa to give a quick answer it is a botherhood a fraternal order a society with secrets. Just as you cant go to the White House and ask what goes on in closed door meetings, or the vatician and sit in on conclave, or pepsi and coke and ask for the recipes masons also have secrets. if im not mistaken we as christian pledge a blood oath as well accept jesus or burn forever. Am I wrong. Do you tell your husband what your boss talks about in their staff meeting? I am sure the answer is No. You signed a contract with your company or business. Also the question to you is this Has he committed a crime of any sort? Disrespected and sinned against his family and/or church in anyway? Has he put you in harms way? If the answer is NO why do you fear what he is doing at meetings? If he hasnt stopped going to church serving the lord and paying tithes and offerings and taking care of his wife and family as deemed by the lord he should. What is the issue. I have a question for the EX-Catholic Priest why I as a common person am not allowed to just walk into the Vatican church? what is being hidden from me? As for the mention of Signs and Symbols. Is not the Crusifix an instrament of torture and death that millions were placed on by the Romans long before and after Jesus? Isnt that same instrament placed around the necks and walls of homes and churches? Now you will say it represents christ sacrifice but common criminals and were killed the same way. so who does it truly represent? Pike and Mackey I wont touch simply becuase at that time in our history christians of all walk owned slaves and we all know now that was wrong. So for my Ex-OES i am sorry that you feel the way you do but as I was taught every Sign and symbols may have dual meanings. the cross, swatsika, pyramid, star of david, pentagram, and the Jesus Fish or Pisces sign examples.

Yet better than argueing back and forth on the matter and condeming everyone to hell why not do what God and Jesus and just Follow him.

Lastly “The one thing to divide all men is Religion & Politics.”
I do not remember who said it.

  16. Gerald Says:

I’m gonna say this and pray it reaches your hearts and minds of those who fear what they don’t know. Just like everything else in this world that exists, there is duality in all. How can you speak as a Christian when it was a Christian that burned a religious book(Koran)? I am a mason and a Christian! Everything the bible speaks to faith, hope, charity is also mentioned in the bible. In an earlier post someone said the bible doesn’t mention faith and good works will get you into heaven. I beg thee pick up a bible and read it again, google faith and good works if you’re lazy. You’ll find the bible says exactly what any mason knows. Before you call it a secret, know that any information you could ever possibly want can be found. But if you truly want to know, try experiencing it for yourself. Every has an opinion about everything but most people base their opinions on the word of others. Seek truth for yourself(“the light”) and be leery of those who seek to thrust their unfounded beliefs on you(“darkness”)!!

  17. Biscuit Says:

If you are really interested in why Roman Catholics and Freemasons can not possibly go to heaven you have to watch Prof Walter Veith’s DVD’s re Total Onslaught. You can find them on the Amazing Discoveries website. For the person who wrote this blog, congratulations. You will absolutely love Prof Walter’s DVD’s. It is worth buying them for your collection.

  18. preacherboy Says:

If you are a saved, born-again child of God AND a Mason, unless the Holy Spirit of God opens your willfuly stubborn heart, no arguments for the real truth will make any difference go you. You’ve read the truth here, and 1. you’re now responsible, and 2. these words will ring in your ears when you stand before God. You’ll do exactly what you choose to do until then, but you can’t tell God no one warned you.
For those wishing more information, look up William Schnoebelen (I hope I spelled that name right.) He has a book, and he’s on Youtube.
Also get the recordings of John Todd off of James Japan’s webste (jamesjpn.com I think it is). He’ll tie the lodge to witchcraft for you.
Also Jack Chick has books about this (chick.com). A newspaper man was killed (drowned) back in the 1800’s for revealing this stuff, so it is no joke.

I will tell you why I joined the craft. I discovered at the age of 19 the church took Ephesians 2:8 out of context as well John 3:16.
I decided if there was a plan for salvation it was Acts 2:38.

      Hi there Ashley,
Can you please expand a bit about why you say that. Would like to understand your viewpoint,
      Regards,
      A.

Hi Another Mouse, I don’t mind unpacking it a bit more.
Since the beginning I always thought church was a little superficial as I discovered later like I mentioned.
But all the people I went to church with were all firm believers in the dogma and to question its validity got me labeled as legalist, cultist and modalist.
        I hope that helps.
        Ash

        Thank you Ashley,

I would really appreciate that. What is in your view the correct interpretation of those verses and how do you think the Church has it wrong?

        Regards,
        A.

Hi anothermouse, 2 Timothy 2:15 study to shew thyself approved unto god, a workmaman that needeth not to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth.
2 Peter 1:20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
Isaiah 9:6 reveals the name of the father, son and holy ghost. JESUS.
By rejecting the Acts 2:38 plan for salvation you reject Jesus and the keys to the kingdom that were given to Peter by Jesus in Matthew 16, 18-19 and expose yourself as a polytheist.
Colossians 2:9 tells us For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.
        Ash.

        Hi Ashley,
Correct, we have to study the Word to come to know God and what He has revealed for us. If we need answers we need to look at the “Whole Council if God”, meaning all of the Word, to get our answers and of course, we need to pray about it, asking Him to reveal it to us.
What is the Acts2:28 plan of salvation? Can you please elaborate.
        A.

Freemasonry promotes moral independence where the Bible says in Luke 9:23 if any man come after me he must deny himself. If a person denies themselves they claim no knowledge of themselves. The Freemason is only too aware if he denies himself he will ultimately deny him “SELF” at an ethereal level. This means he must deny intuitive knowing or the light. A Freemason will not deny himself and adopt Christian values. The Freemason will unlock the infinite potential of his unconscious mind and adopt enlightened values. The God of Freemasonry is not difficult to understand it’s viewed as “The primordial force” That can be steered with intent and is impersonal like magnetism or electricity. This means no sin, no need for deliverance, and no need for a saviour. The Freemason realises he has transcendence on account of his direct perception of the tree nature of things. The Freemason is a magician and nothing else.

  21. anothermouse Says:

Thank you Ashley, very well put. And that explains exactly why a Christian, a real follower of Jesus, can NOT be a Freemason, because, although Freemasonry do not admit it openly, in essence they,

    @ refuse to deny themselves,
@ value knowledge of the “light” above knowledge of Christ,
@ will not adopt Christian values,
@ view God as a mere force, impersonal, like magnetism,
@ deny the need for a Saviour,

A serious Christian can never accept that. It would be a betrayal of our King and Redeemer, who is EVERYTHING to a real Christian.

The problem with Freemasonry is they are not open and honest about these issues. They pretend that Jesus is welcome in the Lodge, just as welcome as any other god you care to mention. To a real Christian that is unbearable, because there is only one King, and that is Jesus.

    Do you see the problem?

Of course if you are not a real Christian none of this will bother you, but of course, then you have an even bigger problem, but that is another discussion altogether.

    Blessings,
    A.

Hi A, Since this thread began I have connected with Evangelical doctrine. God reaches out to us with his love and actions that by sending Jesus. We respond to Gods love in faith with a humble heart, Justified by Grace through faith. On responding to Gods love I had a revelation of Gods Grace, put off the old person and moved into what some call positional sanctification, then I petitioned the Lord with prayer for strength and peace to transcend progressive sanctification (spiritual depression) and moved into completed or entire sanctification then emerged a new identity in Christ. Considering Freemasonry and the United Pentecostal Church, I can not abide the works based doctrine and legalism. Ash
