An open question

Here is an open question to all Freemasons.

WHO IS THE SUPREME BEING THAT YOU DIRECT YOUR PRAYERS TO IN LODGE?

  1. Rebel Says:

Why keep asking the same questions over and over when you never accept their answers? Just to disregard the facts and quote more from Anti-Mason authors with a hidden agenda or vendetta against the organization?

    The answer is simple:
    Hindus pray to their God.
    Muslims pray to their God.
    Jewish pray to their God.
    Christians pray to their God.
    etc…

We all know that you don’t like for Christians to associate with any body else, you made your bigotry quite clear… You don’t play well with others…
So what? Masons are the bad guys because they are not bigots?

BTW, why do you keep ignoring my question-Is John Wayne in Heaven or Hell?

  2. JamesCanby Says:

When I am in lodge, I pray to the God and father of us all, through his only begotten son, my Lord Jesus Christ. I do not know, nor am I interested in or curious about, who my Brothers are praying to — their God is their own personal choice, as it is for me.

  3. Greg Says:

The lodge does not direct its prayers to a supreme being, each member directs their prayers to the God of their choosing.

  4. anothermouse Says:

    Rebel,
I do not know if John Wayne is in heaven or not. If he got saved before he died he would be in heaven, but I do not know that for a fact. Do you?
I honestly think you could argue with a grey horse until he (the grey horse) admits he is actually black. (Maybe just to get out of the argument).
In the end this (this whole debate) is a “heart” matter and not a “mind” matter. God will judge all of us one day on what occurred in our hearts. Your brain induced spicy tone and witty comment does little to hide the language of your heart underpinned in your words. For that reason I love you all the more and will not relent.

    Rebel, Greg and JamesCanby,
I’ll answer comments in my next post.

  5. Rebel Says:

I’m glad you finally answered the question. And if you noticed, my tone kind of matches that of my Brothers as their defense is well understood – they do good works. My arguments, as relentless and tiresome as they are, learn from them as your debates would do more good defending religion and Christianity rather than a particular opinion of why Christians should not join a specific organization outside of Church. I suggested earlier that you should study Dinesh and Strobel…Their efforts are far more admirable considering those who are even more intolerant toward Christianity and those who do not believe in God – if you think my arguments are relentless and my tone is bad, check out the comments on Dinesh’s BLOG at AOL…Intolerant Atheists are far worse…

Anyway, back on topic… “I do not know if John Wayne is in heaven or not.” “God will judge all of us one day on what occurred in our hearts. ” But you said that a Christian cannot be a Freemason. John Wayne was Freemason, 33rd Degree. Your earlier posts and comments suggest that being a Freemason earns one a first class ticket to hell… Either it does or it don’t. If you don’t know then how can you argue that Freemasonry is not an organization that Christians should belong?

BTW, John Wayne was an upstanding person. He made some mistakes that you and I would not agree with but his heart was in the right place.

Let me tell you about another good Mason, one not as famous but loved just the same.

Dr. Matthew Lyle Lacy II was known for the gifts of his hands — the
lifesaving skills he employed as a surgeon at Community Memorial
Hospital in South Hill and his talent building grandfather clocks and
    other projects.

Born to a Presbyterian minister and his wife in Washington County, he
grew up in Mount Clinton. His father died when he was 16, and he
worked to fund his college education.

Dr. Lacy graduated from Hampden-Sydney College in 1941 and taught in
the Dinwiddie County school system to raise money to attend medical
    school.

He earned his medical degree in 1946 from Medical College of Virginia,
where he also was commissioned a first lieutenant in the Army Medical
Corps. He served his internship and surgical residency at Lewis-Gale
Hospital in Salem before going on active duty with the Army, including
a stint as assistant chief of surgery at the station hospital at Fort
    Lee.

“When he came to Community Memorial it was a small hospital. He read X-
rays, did blood work and rode in the ambulance. The staff members knew
each other and knew the patients. Everyone pitched in and did it all
to represent health care for people in five counties,” his son said.

He did a residency at McGuire Veterans Hospital in Richmond before
    going to South Hill.

“One of the things he was most proud of was showing up every night at
local football games at Parkview High School. There were many cold
nights he stood on the sidelines to take care of the players, even if
it got to be 20 degrees,” his son said.

Dr. Lacy served on the board of Blue Shield of Virginia for 15 years,
    including four years as chairman.

A Freemason since 1956, he was twice master of South Hill Lodge 297,
AF&AM, and was grandmaster of the Grand Lodge of Virginia in 1979.

Rebel doesnt seem to get the drift, yes , hindus, muslims, etc prays to their own gods, thats just the point ! resd 2 corinth 6 : 14-18, the gospel of our lord stipelates that you have to stay away from people who are not followers of the lord, all those above mentioned does not believe in JESUS CHRIST our lord, i just follow the rules off my Bible,am i wrong then ? no ! masons share a worldwide loge with them so tell me what u believe, do u believe in JESUS CHRIST our LORD who’s blood was spilled to save us, if yes you in the wrong organisation and you have to repent and ask GOD to forgive you for sharing thougts and and (temple’s) and rituals with pagans who doesnt believe JESUS CHRIST is the son of GOD.also read2 corinth 4 :1-6 and 1 corinth 10 : 1- 22 , GODS word teaches us that those who doesnt believe our saviour JESUS CHRIST is the son of GOD is not christians, lucky for me i confessed all my sins to GOD and ask for forgiveness, and i am a proud follower of KING JESUS, Amen !

  7. Rebel Says:

“i am a proud follower of KING JESUS, Amen !” I wouldn’t be so certain about that… Hitler or Stalin, perhaps, or swaying over to the extremist side…

“lucky for me i confessed all my sins to GOD and ask for forgiveness.” Perhaps just the ones you know of but you might have forgotten a few, starting with offending others, judging others, pride, just to name a few. You just didn’t cast the first stone but threw the second, third, and fourth too and did so prematurely before even knowing anything about the judgment you just passed…

    Not very wise…

“you have to stay away from people who are not followers of the lord, all those above mentioned does not believe in JESUS CHRIST our lord, i just follow the rules off my Bible,am i wrong then ?”

It helps to read and understand the Bible, continue on passed Mark, Mathew, Luke and John… Perhaps, I don’t know, moving onto Acts where the Apostles “Did not stay away from those who were not followers of Christ.”

“Then Jesus came to them and said, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20)

In Luke 10:2, we read about Jesus sending out workers with this instruction: “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; Romans 12:10

Love worketh no ill to his neighbor: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. Romans 13:11

But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another. 1 Thessalonians 4:9

John 12:44 Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me. 45 And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me. 46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. 47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. 48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. 49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. 50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

  8. anothermouse Says:

    Rebel,
    In reply to your comment above;
So do you mean to say “all sinners are doomed to Hell?”
And you also confess to be a follower of Jesus!
What don’t you understand about His forgiving grace?
Any sinner who confess and begs Him of forgiveness will be forgiven. As a Christian you should know that!
I have been a mason myself but have asked the Lord to forgive me. I have also repented from that sin by resigning from the order. Because I know that I am forgiven, I know that I am forgiven! I believe I will not go to hell for having been a mason. For the same reason ANYONE who does the same will not need to fear God’s punishment for being a mason or any other sin for that matter. If one fails however to see the error, that can be a real problem, for how can you ask to be forgiven something you do not believe to be a sin. That is exactly what the Devil wants you to believe. I pray with all my heart that you will see the light before it is too late for you.

    God Bless.

  9. Rebel Says:

I never stated anyone was doomed but rather argued that Freemasonry was not the golden ticket to get you into Hell or Heaven. My arguments were that the organization was outside any of that, secular like most organizations that are not a branch of some religion.

My previous argument was that if you don’t know if a life long Mason is in Hell or not, then how can you argue that Masonry is a sin? There’s no scripture stating that it is, therefore no Biblical Authority supporting your argument…

And if it is a matter of the heart, then a Christian can be a Mason considering many of Masons are Christians and feel in their heart they are doing good works. In fact there are past Brothers that founded and built Christian Churches.

Take James Lee Baggett: Mr. Baggett retired from Trane Company after 26 years as a specialist and expeditor. He was a Freemason and a founding member of Bethel Baptist Church.

“What don’t you understand about His forgiving grace?” That’s the question we Christian Masons have been asking you all that keep putting down our good Brothers? “Who are you to judge?”

“If one fails however to see the error, that can be a real problem, for how can you ask to be forgiven something you do not believe to be a sin.”
So you now claim our past Brothers are in Hell because they did not do the same as you and leave the fraternity?

“I pray with all my heart that you will see the light before it is too late for you.”

Too late for what? “Hell?” But you don’t know if its a sin or not or rather if those who died being Masons are Heaven or Hell…

And now it’s a matter of the heart…and our hearts say that it is no sin even though you want it to be. “What don’t you understand about His forgiving grace?”

    Better yet:
That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.
    John 3:15

What part of that do you not understand?
